Who we are
Garden Gameplan makes garden planners, free tools and Grow, a garden app at grow.gardengameplan.com. This policy covers both Grow and the gardengameplan.com website. Questions? Email [email protected].
What Grow keeps
- Your account: name, email, ZIP or postcode, language and units.
- Your garden: plants, beds, notes, growth stages, photos, and your Grow 360 check-up answers.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Email preferences: which emails you want from us.
Google sign-in
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to create your account and sign you in.
Google Photos
Grow uses Google's Photos Picker. We only receive the photos you choose in the Picker. We never browse or list your Google Photos library.
Chosen photos are copied into your private Grow garden and shown on your plant's timeline. When you ask, they are used to identify the plant or for Grow 360. We don't share them, and you can delete them any time.
Grow's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
AI processing
When you ask Grow to identify a plant from a photo, scan a seed packet, or run Grow 360, the photos and notes you send go through OpenRouter to an AI model provider (for example Google Gemini). They are sent only to answer that request.
OpenRouter says it does not store the text or images of requests unless an account opts in to logging, and that it keeps only usage details such as token counts. We ask OpenRouter to use only AI providers that do not keep or train on what you send, so your photos and notes are not used to train AI models. Google says its paid Gemini API does not use your prompts or responses to improve its products, and keeps them for a limited time to detect abuse and meet legal duties. See OpenRouter's data policy and Google's Gemini API terms.
Grow itself never sells your data and never uses it for advertising.
What's public
Only what you choose to make public: your garden page, plants you share, and gallery photos after approval. Photo location data (GPS) is removed when photos are stored.
Who else handles data
We share your data only with parties necessary to run the business: Stripe (payment processing), Brevo (email delivery), DigitalOcean (hosting and photo storage), Sentry (error reports), Google Firebase (sign-in), OpenRouter and its model providers (AI, see above), and for website orders our printing partner (to produce and ship your customized planner). The website's analytics tools are listed under Cookies & Analytics below. They use your data only for those purposes and in line with their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Deleting your data
- Deleting your Grow account erases your garden, photos included, and cancels any subscription.
- Or email [email protected] and we will help.
- Website orders and sign-ups: we collect only what we need to fulfill your order, deliver free tools like our planting calendar, and send garden emails. Order data is your name, email, shipping address, and zip code. Calendar and email sign-ups are your email and ZIP code (and optionally your name). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
Cookies & Analytics
We use the following tools to understand how our site is used, fix problems, and measure marketing. These services may set cookies or similar technologies in your browser:
- Google Analytics — page views and general traffic patterns (pages visited, referrers, device and browser type) so we can understand how people find and use the site. Learn more in Google's privacy policy.
- Umami — privacy-focused analytics (pages viewed, custom events such as calendar downloads, general device/browser type). Hosted at umami.is.
- Microsoft Clarity — session recordings and heatmaps (how you scroll, click, and move through pages) so we can improve layout and fix confusing flows. Learn more in Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Meta Pixel — to measure the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram ads and to show relevant ads to people who have visited our site.
- Sentry — error monitoring when something breaks on the site or in our server (technical logs such as error messages and browser type). We avoid sending full email addresses or payment details in these reports.
You can limit some tracking via your browser settings or ad preferences (for example, Facebook Ad Preferences). Blocking analytics scripts may not affect core site features such as ordering or downloading your calendar.
Children
Garden Gameplan and Grow are not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
